When I first arrived, I had just left my role as a Marketing Product Manager at GE Medical Systems near Paris. The NGO that sent me ran out of funds in less than nine months. So, together with our dynamic and highly motivated Vietnamese team, we founded Mekong Plus. Later, recognizing that NGOs are best run by locals, we established thienchicenter.org, anhduonghg.org, cao-cambodia.org, and finally mekongquilts.com. These local partners now manage all the projects magnificently 😊and even raise more than half of the funds locally—thank you to supporters like MOMO, HSBC and others.
The only challenge? I’d love to do more, but I’ll never match what the locals do so well—and often better than I could. A truly positive outcome. I’m happy to volunteer to other social organizations🌷.
